In order to point the attention of users as well as of Nokia itself to bugs in the firmware of mobile phones you will find below the issues I came across.

Phone: Nokia N79

Firmware version: 20.175.53.1

• After installing this firmware the Nokia Bluetooth Keyboard application does not start up automatically anymore. When trying to run it manually, it can't be run. Completely switching off/on the phone does not help. Re-installing the keyboard application does help.
• The location settings menu item (Tools, Settings, General) for the GPS etc. sometimes is not present at all. Completely switching off/on the phone several times does help.
• Sometimes after having locked the keypad with the hardware switch on top of the phone the keyboard lighting remains. Completely switching off/on the phone does help.
• Sometimes after having unlocked the keypad with the hardware switch on top of the phone the keyboard is not lit. Completely switching off/on the phone does help.
• Sometimes the GPS location is not activated even if it has been set so in the settings. Navigation software would not work in thoses instances. Completely switching off/on the phone does help.
• When using the option "Surname First name" in the contacts list ALL contacts are shown twice. Using the option "Surname, First name" brings things back to normal.

• Screen barely readable / unreadable in sunlight; For that reason I have written my own high contrast theme N79_black_on_white.sis (4 K) with the help of Nokia Carbide UI 3.4. See the screnshot below.
• Sound coming out of the "ear part" too low
• Keyboard characters totally insvisible in certain lighting conditions
• Very difficult to make/keep WiFi connections
• Speakerphone sound for the other party obviously not good - that's what I hear from my contacts. I can hear them very well though.
