Validating and Generating International Bank Account Numbers
With the advent of IBANs on 14 August 1999 as numbers for international bank transfers it might happen that an IBAN commuicated to you contains typos - IBANs can have a length of up to 34 alphanumeric digits. This program will check the integrity of such a number.
At www.ibannl.org you will find an online calculator to generate the IBAN and the SWIFT code for any Dutch bank account, free of charge. At www.swift.com/biconline/index.cfm?fuseaction=display_freesearch you can serach for SWIFT and BIC codes (BIC = Bank Identifier Code) of 180,000 financial institutions (a simple registration is necessary). At www.iban-rechner.de there are other free IBAN tools, e.g. to generate IBANs from an account number for various countries. At www.blzdir.de you can look up, generateand check IBAN's, BIC's, Bankleitzahlen (bank codes) and names of German bank accounts and German banks. |
